MinXus Mail Bag: Stunning Stamps by Jesse Edwards (Jesarchives) (Carcassonne, France)

Mail art by Jesse Edwards (Jesarchives) (Carcassonne, France)

We extend an excited Mink Ranch “Howdy” and a secret MinXus handshake to the incredibly talented and veteran networker Jesse Edwards who appears for the first time upon our humble blog. He sent us this work from France although he has roots in California and thus qualifies as part of our ongoing West Coast USA Survey.

We have gotten to know Jesse Edwards a bit online – as much as you can really get to know someone through this imperfect medium – and are very impressed with the art we have seen. He thoughtfully sent us these absolutely gorgeous stamps that we will treasure. They are worth a closer look:

Jesse Edwards’ work, even conveyed in these tremendous stamps, tends toward complexity rather than the minimal. Much of what he does borders upon vispo even if it is not intentionally vispo.

We are very interested in the archive aspect of Jesse Edwards but cannot provide a great deal of information. Tantalizing cards were included in the mailing:

A very impressive list! We would love to see some of those holdings. We note the San Francisco address and assume mail sent will reach its proper destination? We also have this:

Deepest thanks to Jesse Edwards of Jes Archives for this wonderful mail art!

Much appreciated, Jesse. The stamps are even nicer than the scans convey. Thanks on the address clarification for any Tenderfoots who might be new to your work.

Richard Canard is just gushing about you on the IUOMA-Ning site where I posted a version of this. (Excuse the drama.) He is familiar with your work. I am very pleased to “meet” you.

    We certainly all dig post-holism!
