Mail-art by Moan Lisa (Iowa City, Iowa, USA)

MinXus USA has acquired a vast collection of superb work by the great Moan Lisa. We are now in the process of documenting and archiving this work, which we are pleased to share with you as it is processed. Moan is certainly earning a well-deserved reputation among current artists working in the spirit of DaDa and Fluxus. We are also very pleased that MinXus Moan Lisa is an authorized user of the MinXus-Lynxus name. MinXus supports Moan Lisa 100 percent!

We believe Moan Lisa is doing innovative work in visual poetry and asemic writing, as the work above indicates, although it is extremely diverse and pieces can be stylistically divergent. In this mailing, some scripture was included:

Moan - flux - 3

And we thought Moan Lisa would choose the Book of Mark?

Moan - flux - 4

A Moan Lisa mail-art call was included. We are not sure if this is still ongoing, as things can change very quickly, with Moan. All the same it is of some historical significance:

This particular mailing was directed to Mink Rancher:

Some artists in Europe who are working in the spirit of Fluxus are advocating that they now be called Luxus. The debate over whether Fluxus died in 1978 with George Maciunas continues. We defer to whatever choices the members of this community agree upon. Yet we will offer the advice: Stick with Fluxus. No one has changed DaDa to aDa.

Many thanks to Moan Lisa! And more to come.
