    Very kind of you, Claudia.

Many of our more international friends might not grasp the idea. Here in the USA our towns and cities have Code Enforcement Officers who inspect buildings to ensure they comply with legal & safety standards. The phrase is, “Up to Code” or “code compliant.”

Well, in terms of semiotics, we know there is the idea of enforced language codes that bolster the great monolithic forces of control. So I asked myself, what really is a Code Enforcement Officer?

And I leave you that to ponder.

OH DVS that translation helped a lot. Now I like it even more! I kept wondering if it was some kind of a mail art call.

Glad I could illuminate for you, Miss Becca.

When I walk from the scenic Overlook Hotel to the Stop-N-Go, I pass through the City Hall Parking Lot where there is a row of police-like cars that have “Code Enforcement” emblems on them. It took a while for the dim light bulb to pop in my mind.

Sadly, a “Code Enforcement Officer” of the type suggested here might be a teacher or professor (present company accepted, of course). Anyone who maintains the codified messages of control and conformity.
