Amazing Mink Makeover from Rebecca Guyver (Suffolk, UK) & Happy Mink Ranch Birthday!

Miss Becca - birthday - 1

Mail-art by Rebecca Guyver (Suffolk, UK)

First, a warm MinXus-Lynxus Happy Birthday to our dear correspondent Miss Becca. Frequent dispatches from her chicken farm are favourites among tenderfoots and seasoned travellers alike all along the Dusty Trail.

Miss Becca has contributed this rendering of a mink (we’ll call it that) to the MinXus USA archives.  This is a priceless gift as a stand-alone work, and we believe the image can also be viewed in Diane Keys’ Museum of Bad Mail-art.

Ever a fount of MinXus resourcefulness and creativity, Miss Becca has also done a classic makeover, as she explains:

Paper dolls – there’s a concept.

Miss Becca and other folks of a more sensitive nature have expressed concern about the various bar fights that erupt at Yoma. Don’t be concerned, dear friends. Rancher and Dark wall are the veterans of many a duel and scuffle, many a whole lot bigger and more important than what takes place on a postcard trading site where posers and self-promoters try to attach their stars (with stars in their eyes) to something Ray Johnson started long ago. In fact, American poetry is just one huge barfight that has gone on for decade upon decade. Miss Emily wrote something like: “Success is measured sweetest by those who n’er succeed.”

Anyway, without further lecturin, here is Miss Becca’s Mink Makeover:

Now that, that is a colour-coordinated, made-over mink of the highest order. This is a testimony to the MinXus-Lynxus School of Beauty & Cosmology. We deeply appreciate this Instant Classic.

We hope you enjoy your birthday, Miss Becca. You are always a welcome friend at the Mink Ranch.

Ohlala M.G. Can’t stop laughing. This is hilarious to the extreme. What a brilliant envelope, Rebecca. Exactly what we needed. Fun, clever, sweet, thoughtfull… I can only imagine Dw and the Rancher playing paperdoll all day. Are there more clothes? Can you dress the mink according to the season or the event? I don’t think I will stop laughing any time soon….
Oh, and a very happy birthday to you!

Right ho, Dw. That mink’s got the best hair. And the best Christmas tree ornaments as well.

Empress, the makeover came glued to a clear plastic sheet. So there’s only one outfit.

Oh that’s too bad. Well, this one will entertain us for several seasons to come. I like the tangerine skirt.

The best birthday present is being present on M-L on my auspicious day. Was so busy what with preparing the annual feast for family and friends that I missed it on the day! Long live the internet trace! Mink Ranger… I included plastic sheets for you to make your own outfit. I’m sure the ‘mink’ needs some battle gear, or a VISPO raincoat, or something. Thank you all!
