“No! I prefer MinXus?” – Fluxus fav JF Chapelle (Merignac, France) sends his regards to Holism

Faithful correspondent jf chapelle sent us this recent work that certainly qualifies as Holism. jf is a talented artist and visual poet who is also a master of minimalism, economy, and clarity. Here is the reverse side of this postcard-size piece:

Wonderful to receive work from jf again! And he is certain to soon receive a souvenir (free) from the Mink Ranch Gift Shop.

Make sure to visit jf chapelle’s blog to see more of his work:

JF Chapelle’s mail-art issues (he seems to work in editions) often become Instant Classics, as the piece above, which circulated circa summer 2011. “No! I prefer Fluxus” inspired Empress Marie Antonette to create the MinXus relic below, circulated circa fall 2011:

Many thanks and best wishes to jf chapelle!

JF is trying to solve the riddle of the cryptic circles. He will go mad! I prefer Fluxus.

Wow! It’s very clear with this holism piece that JF prefers MinXus! I TOLD YOU he told me he would convert. Done! That’s a blow for the FluXus people.

Did you see the picture of the Bunk House at the bottom? We figure after your ‘nesia spell you might have to come back to the Mink Ranch for a rest.

I reckon she hasn’t fully come to her senses yet. I showed her the picture, she said it looked a bit… bunky and then she asked what you serve for breakfast. I like the gift shop, with all the wheels from god knows where and the shirts 🙂 (and you think I didn’t notice the Elgin shroud hanging there but I did)

That’s funny you should notice the fabric sale we was havin when the pitur was took, Ms. Pinko.

One night Dw came back to the ranch drivin a big truck just full of them bolts of fabric. He said he found the truck ‘bandoned up on the main road. He said since no one else wanted it he might as well take it. So we did right good with that purty fabric.

Most amazing of all is Dw’s checkered red shirt from the comics, right there on display!!

Miss Igloo, that is a mighty perceptive observation. Back before Dw took to wearin a mask and a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) bucket on his head he did indeed wear a red checkered flannel shirt (and a construction helmet).
